Devices and technical requirements

ACER's online assessment and reporting system is a web-based platform that does not require you to install any software. The minimum technical requirements to access and effectively utilise the system are described below.

The following topics are covered in this article:

To avoid or minimise problems, please ensure that your technical infrastructure (including network, devices and browsers) meets or exceeds these requirements.

Browser exam

ACER’s automated browser exam is intended to help quickly identify potential issues that may affect your ability to administer the online assessments.

You must perform the browser exam in ‘landscape mode’. It is recommended that you run the browser exam from the device/s you will be using and the location you will be in to assess the children. The browser exam provides diagnostic information specific to the time the page is accessed and to the network, device and browser used.

Note that the recommendations provided are based on your internet bandwidth at the time and location the browser exam is run.

If your browser exam shows that you do not have the appropriate network connection and/or download speed, please contact the Preschool support team as they will be able to assist you with offline options. Please note that iPads are not compatible with the offline version of the tool.

Accessibility features of the Preschool Outcomes Measure tool

Please ensure when adding your child information that you correctly identify any specific learning needs or accommodations by selecting the correct fields. If you have begun an assessment with a child and you notice it is not correct for their ability, please contact the Preschool support team to assist.
